Main Street Portsmouth In Bloom [MSPIB] is a Volunteer driven organization. The Executive Director is our only paid employee.

The beautification, historic preservation, and public events programming offered by MSPIB is all planned and executed by our amazing and dedicated Volunteers!

Every year, MSPIB Volunteers have a significant positive impact on our Community.
​
Volunteers and Committee Members are NOT required to be a part of the MSPIB Membership or to serve on our Board of Directors.

DESIGN COMMITTEE
MSPIB's award-winning Design Committee oversees Downtown Portsmouth beautification.
​
FLOWER GIRLS
MSPIB's Flower Girls meet to decorate the Downtown in the early spring, to plant floral arrangements in the summer and fall, and to create evergreen displays for the winter.
Our Volunteer Coordinator sends out a call for action, and available Volunteers arrive for duty. Attendance is NOT mandatory.

BENCHMARK MEN
MSPIB's Benchmark Men meet to assemble and install Memorial Benches, construct Flowerboxes and Flowerbeds, as well as those components of Downtown Beautification which require strength and engineering skills.
​
As with all of MSPIB's Volunteering Programs, projects are scheduled by our Volunteer Coordinator, and available Volunteers participate in activities.

COMMUNITY
SERVICE
MSPIB's offers Volunteering Opportunities for Clubs, Civic Organizations, Churches, and Schools, as well as to People who need to fulfill court-ordered Community Service requirements.
​
MSPIB tailors Volunteer Projects to the needs of the group or individual interested in participating in Community Service. Projects are made to suit all ages and abilities, and there is no shortage of work to be done toward the beautification of Downtown Portsmouth!

If you enjoy gardening, planting, or construction, there is a place for you on our Design Team!
PROMOTIONS & EVENTS COMMITTEE
MSPIB's Promotions & Events Committee plans our public events and outreach every year.
​
MSPIB offers a variety of events, ranging from Downtown Business Promotions to Fundraising Projects and Dinners.
​
Volunteers are an integral part of the event creation process, coordinating logistics, advertising, and implementation.
​
If you enjoy Event Planning, decorating, or interfacing with the Public, there is a place for you on our Promotions & Events Team!
There are opportunities at MSPIB for Volunteers of all ages and for any individual or group that would like to make a difference in our Community!
